Eastern Winter
- Looking west across the yard. Connellsville, PA., 2010. photo by Anonymous -
I spent most of this past winter sleeping in my truck in the parking lot of a railroad yard. I don't know how many times I looked out my window and thought, "What the hell am I doing here? How did I wind up here?" The obvious answer is that I was chasing my job, which is something my Union Officers tell me I should appreciate. Apparently, railroaders have the unique opportunity to travel even further away from their families to keep working. It's better than the unemployment line. Right?

Lucy Likes Her Bath
When Ruby was born she didn't make a whole lot of fuss. When Lucy was born she screamed her head off! When Ruby got her first water bath she screamed her head off, but Lucy was completely content. Everyone kept telling us, "Night and day! They'll be completely different people!"
It's so amazing to see these girls become real people.
The Good Zoo?
We recently went to The Good Zoo at Olgebay in wonderful and wild West Virginia. The first thing we saw at the zoo were some model trains.
Oh! We did see a Zebra. One Zebra. I think we saw a chicken too. Not much of a zoo.

Jay, Aline, and Kai come to visit
Our good friends, Jay and Aline, came from Columbus to visit us the other day, and Ruby was so excited to see her friend Kai.
Ruby: Before and After
Just wanted to repost this picture with another one to show that Ruby really is the sweetest girl ever, and she just happens to be good at making "not-very-happy" faces!

This is Ruby's sister, Lucy Marie Beighley. When this photo was taken she had just turned one month old.
